Shearith Perimeter Fence Project

HELP PROTECT OUR CAMPUS
with a Generous Gift to the Shearith Perimeter Fence Project!


As was announced on Kol Nidre, our shul is launching a vital improvement to our historic Douglas Avenue campus. A new perimeter fence, beautifully designed by Linda Tycher and Associates, will ensure that our members, our children, and our guests benefit from the extra layer of 24/7 security that a wrought-iron barrier can provide. 

We are one of the last synagogues of significant size in Dallas without a perimeter fence. After witnessing the horrific events in Manchester on Yom Kippur morning, we must act now to ensure our campus is secure.



We estimate that this capital project will cost $1.5 million*. As this fence will protect our entire community, we are asking every Shearith family to consider contributing. Together we can make this project a reality! Your generous gift at one of the levels below will help us reach our goal. Lead gifts and donations of any amount are needed over the next few weeks to secure the required funds so that construction can begin as soon as possible.

*Any funds raised in excess of the cost of the project will be directed to the Shearith Israel Foundation and used to cover regular maintenance of the fence.

  • Sukkah Courtyard Sponsorship: $300,000
  • Gates of Prayer Sponsorship: $100,000
  • Pillar of the Community Sponsorship: $50,000
